Philanthropist builds 1.5 billion ultra-modern facilities for Muslim schools at Asawasi

In her quest to support the society as her widow mite contribution towards the rapid socio-economic development of the country, a Saudi Arabian philanthropist, Dr. Hanan Al-Attas Atanamawy has generously provided an ultra-modern GHC1.5 Billion (old currency) mosque, two classrooms edifice and a borehole for Nasiriya Basic School at Kumasi Asawasi in the Ashanti Region.

The projects, according to the Financier was fully initiated by the Municipal Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong Assembly, Hon Alidu Seidu and it took the conductor a period of two months February to March 2019, for its completion.

Commissioning the facilities over the weekend at the school premises at Asawasi, Sheikh Abu Baraa Hanni Ahmed Doman, the Managing Director of Al-Ehsan Construction Limited of Saudi Arabia who influenced and transferred the contract to a local contractor of the country Hybrid Lending Edge Co. Ltd. expressed his gratitude to Dr. Hanan-Attas Attanamawy (the philanthropist) of whose gesture the school has been providing itself.

Sheikh Abu thanked the Ghana government and other stakeholders for allowing and accepting the philanthropist to support the school adding, the move shows clearly that Ghana is a country which believes and understands the freedom of worship without discrimination.

Dr. Shiekh Abu observed that Asawasi is identified as one of the areas that lack water facilities hence apart from the mosque and the classroom blocks the philanthropist decided to add water project to give the school children easy access to portable drinking water.

He added that the mosque was to be used to instill Quaranic principles into the mindset of the children so that they would grow up to become disciplined future leaders, while the school block would also encourage them to know their civil rights at all times to avoid a situation where somebody could deceive them.

The local Contractor Shiekh Abdul Mushin Shamhun Baafi on behalf of Ghanaians thanked the Saudi Arabian philanthropist, the Suadi Arabian Ambassador to Ghana and other stakeholders of whose full support he was able to complete the project in time.

Shiekh Abdul took the opportunity to advise the Moslem children to embrace education since education is the best asset one can achieve to ensure a successful life.

He entreated the school children to take their academic work seriously since there are more opportunities ahead of them.

The Shiekh noted that the gesture of the philanthropist would strengthen the link between the two countries and charged the school authorities to take good care of the offer to ensure longer life as by so doing would encourage other philanthropists both local and international to come to their aid in the future.

The philanthropist was fully represented by the Arabian Contractor Sheikh Abu Baraa Hanni Ahmed Doman.
