A 14-seater Nissan Urvan commercial vehicle (tro-tro) has been towed with passengers on board at the Kumasi Central Market on Monday afternoon. The offence of the driver was to pick passengers at an unapproved point. An eyewitness, Kofi Yeboah, who is a public servant in Kumasi told GhanaWeb that city authorities who towed the vehicle first impounded it requesting for a fine. He said the driver who was supported by the passengers refused to heed to the requests of the task force to either pay the fine of an undisclosed amount or allow the vehicle be towed to the yard of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly. "There was a heated argument and the passengers refused to get off the vehicle for it to be towed. The Police came to the scene but were not able to convince them to allow the vehicle to be towed. They then towed the vehicle with the passengers aboard as people looked on," Kofi Yeboah said. See the picture of the incident which was sent to GhanaWeb by the Kofi Yeboah :
