Evans Nimako, the Director of Elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that the party's position on the ballot paper for the 2024 elections is the will of God.

According to him, picking number one will also make it easier for voters to exercise their franchise for the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“We will be number one on the ballot, and hopefully, it will portray to the voters that once you are given the ballot paper, you just look on top of it and see Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he said in an interview with TV3.

Nimako, who led the NPP into the balloting for the 2024 elections at the Electoral Commission headquarters on September 20, 2024, added that Bawumia will secure the necessary votes during the 2024 elections to constitute a new government in 2025.

“This will make it easier for you to vote and cast your ballot into the box, which will be counted by the EC. By God’s grace, it is possible that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will secure the necessary votes to constitute a government on January 7, 2025.

“By God’s grace, we committed it into the hands of God Almighty. We were number one to file, and in the order of picking, we picked one. In the order of placement on the ballot, we picked one.

“We believe that it is not for any other purpose; it is the will of God,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bawumia’s main contender for the 2024 polls, John Dramani Mahama the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), would be occupying the number 8 position on the ballot paper.
