Awutu Odumasi (CR), Nov. 08, GNA - A 10-roomed bungalow for teachers of Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly Primary School at Awutu Odumasi in the Central Region estimated at 59,070 Ghana cedis was inaugurated on Monday. The project initiated by the community with the support of the assembly was financed by Plan Ghana, an NGO. Mr Solomon Abbam Quaye, Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Chief Executive inaugurating the project urged parents and teachers to cooperate in their efforts to educate the pupils to become useful citizens in future. He commended the management of Plan Ghana for their immense contribution towards developments in the district to improve standard of education.
Mr Oppey Abbey, Member of Parliament for Awutu-Senya urged the people to send their children to school because education was the key to development.
He pledged to assist needy but brilliant pupils in the area to pursue their education to Junior and Senior High Schools. Mr Joseph Chris Assan, Bawjiase Area Plan Ghana Manager said, it assisted in the project based on an appeal by the community and hoped it would help alleviate accommodation problems facing teachers in the community.
He acknowledged the communal spirit of the people and urged them to keep it up and ensure the project was well maintained to prolong its life span. Mr Samuel Asare, Town Development Committee Chairman appealed to parents in the area to send their children to school to reciprocate efforts of government and the NGO. 08 Nov. 07
