A police Inspector with the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service has been run over by a speeding Daf Cargo truck on the Kintampo-Techiman Highway in the Bono East Region, MyNewsGh.com reports.

Inspector Foster Amoah who was riding with another colleague at Nante Zongo was reportedly run over by the speeding vehicle with registration number GE 7562-14 driven by 30-year-old Awudu Sumaila.

Police sources reveal the suspect driver was on board with his mate but failed to exercise precaution, killing on the spot the uniformed policeman.

The body of the deceased has since been removed from the scene of the accident and taken to the Kintampo Municipal Hospital for preservation while the suspect driver has been detained in custody to assist with investigations
