The minister of Information and Presidential Affairs, Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, on Wednesday explained that arrangements on the importation of 100 peugeot vehicles from Nigeria, for the Police Service, are yet to be finalized.
As a result, government has not made any payment in connection with transaction, though 50 of the vehicles have already been delivered to the Police Service.
The Minister gave the explanation in parliament when he answered a question by the NDC MP for Ho-West, Hon Francis Aggrey Agbotse, who wanted to know the terms of the importation of the said vehicles.
Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey said, the 100 vehicles will cost 1.35 million U.S. dollars, and that payment will be spread over a 3-year period at zero percent interest on the first 50 vehicles. The remaining 50 vehicles will attract 2.5 per cent interest.
