Police armoured cars, motorbikes on fleek as service launches ‘Operation Father Christmas’

It was a full convoy, with sirens in various parts of Accra as several ‘men in uniform’, paraded selected parts of the city to give a fair warning to ‘bad boys and girls’ as the country readies for the Christmas festivities.

With sirens and showing off their convoy, they rode in style, through principal streets of the capital including the Accra-Newton-Circle road. This forms part of arrangements to launch ‘Operation Father Christmas’ to tackle crime during the upcoming festive season.

The route march which started at 7:00 am from the Police Headquarters through Sankara Interchange to 37 Military Hospital – Jubilee House – Olusegun Obasanjo Highway – Kawukudi Roundabout – Accra Girls High School – Pig Farm Roundabout – Kotobabi Police Station – Accra New Town – Mallam Atta Market – Nima Roundabout – Nima Police Station – Ring Road Central – Kwame Nkrumah Circle – Kojo Thompson Road – Cedi House – Liberation Road – Parliament House Road – Castle Junction – La General Hospital – Jokers – Danquah Circle and ended at the Police Headquarters brought into full glare the array of equipment and vehicles of the institution.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanuh, addressed officers and accredited media representatives who had converged after closely following the exercise.
