Police arrest nine more suspects

THE Security agencies have made another breakthrough in their efforts to track down armed robbers with the arrest of nine more suspects last Monday.

They were rounded up during a special operation at Kpong in the Eastern Region.

The nine are currently at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Accra, and include a Junior Secondary School student, (name withheld).

The rest are Peter Amudzi, Fuseini Aminu, Solomon Kwetey Amasah, Joseph Osei Kenney, Yaw Agorgu, Kwasi Ofori, Vincent Aprade and Charles Sowah.

The Second In-Command of CID, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Adolphus Wemegah, told the Graphic in Accra yesterday that the suspects were brought to the CID Headquarters on Tuesday night.

He said items retrieved from them were two vehicles, various electronic gadgets and a travelling bag.

Mr Wemegah gave the registration numbers of the two vehicles, an Opel Kadet and Toyota Excel taxi as, GT 9221 Q, and GW 8686 Q, respectively.

He said the JSS student claims she was sent to deliver some items to someone, but was arrested as a suspect.
