The Brong Ahafo regional MTTU has intercepted 23 bags of substances suspected to be marijuana.
The substances were mixed with cassava in a Mercedes Mini-bus.
Two people have been arrested for attempting to bribe the police for the release of the substances.
ASP Teddy Damptey Brown who is the second in command of the Brong Ahafo regional MTTU in an interview with XYZ News said he rejected the GH¢20,000 bribe because he wanted to do the right thing.
"I was in the office when two gentleman came, when they came they told me that the vehicle and the stuff was theirs and offered me GH¢20,000 but I refused. I told them that my intention was not to collect money from them but to do the right thing so I caused their arrest and detention".
Meanwhile, the Police administration says it will not shield its officers who allegedly assaulted a taxi driver in Kumasi.
David Sarfo was allegedly assaulted by some Police officers for stopping at an unapproved area.
The incident left a gaping wound on the head of the driver after he was hit with a police baton.
Director of Police Public Relations DSP Cephas Arthur told XYZ News that the Police Service will act appropriately after its investigations.
“If indeed there was any unprofessional conduct on the part of the Police trust the Police administration, they will be dealt with accordingly”.
