Deputy Minister of Health, Tina Mensah has rubbished claims by a National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication officer, Eric Adjei that her bodyguard, a police officer rents and sells guns to armed robbers.
The NDC communicator on Thursday alleged on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, the Deputy Minister’s bodyguard sells guns to armed robbers. The Deputy Minister has however issued a disclaimer to rubbish the claims saying that, the police officer has seized to be her guard.
The disclaimer which was signed by her PRO Apreku-Danquah Seth said: ''The said news item which is published out of malicious intent to cause disaffection to Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah reads that, Mr. Eric Appiah-Adjei, an NDC communication officer on Thursday 3rd of May, 2018 stated on RAINBOW FM that Hon.
Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah's bodyguard rents and sells guns to armed robbers. We however wish to state on record that the said police personnel with name Stanley Mensah alleged to be part of the syndicate of police personnel who hired or sold guns to some suspected armed robbers at the time of arrest has ceased to be the bodyguard of the MP who doubles as Deputy Health Minister.
About three (3) months ago, the said police officer's appointment as bodyguard to Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah was revoked upon a letter written to the Inspector General of Police (IGP).''
