Police place GH¢5000 on the heads of attackers of NDC chairman

The Ashanti Regional Police Command is promising a GH¢5,000 reward for anyone who offers information leading to the arrest of persons who attacked the Bekwai NDC Constituency Chairman.

Salisu Musa was allegedly hit on the head with a hammer causing him a broken jaw and severe head injuries.

Addressing the media Monday, Regional Police Commander, DCOP Augustine Gyening said his outfit had initiated investigations into the attack but asked for public assistance to arrest the culprits.

According DCOP Gyening, investigations had also established that on December 7, some NPP supporters, including the NPP MP for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, went to the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi on suspicion that three observers of the NDC had hoarded some ballot boxes there.

He told the media that in the course of the inquisition at the hotel, one Musa Muntaka was kidnapped, robbed and petrol poured on him.

The police, he said, were investigating the kidnapping case amongst other elections-related assault cases in the region.
