A dismissed police constable has been arrested for allegedly duping prospective recruits to the tune of GH¢30,000.00 under the guise of assisting them to be enlisted in the service.

According to the facts of the case, at about 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 Vida assisted by Sekyere Salis and Kwabena Boadu all of same address arrested and brought in suspect Pious Denteh and reported that somewhere in 2015 he collected various sums of money from them which amounted to about Ghc30,000.00 under the pretext of assisting them to be enlisted into the Ghana Police service.

That suspect Pious Denteh posed as Police officer and always seen in Police uniform but checks reveal that he was once a cop but dismissed over professional breaches.

Further intelligence indicated that others have fallen victim under the same pretext used by same suspect.

He has since been handed over to the Intelligence Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service at the Police Headquarters for further investigation.
