A suspected mobile money robber was on Tuesday night gunned down by one Chief Inspector Ebenezer Kannor of Very Important Persons Protection Unit [VIPPU] of the Ghana Police Service.
The deceased was among three men on an unregistered motorbike at Kisseman near the ECOBANK, armed with pistols and knives who stormed the shop of one Evelyn Kesenuh and started giving warning shots and in the process robbed the mobile money vendor of an unspecified amount of money and attempted bolting with the booty.
The Chief Inspector who happened to be at the scene managed to shoot one of them whilst the other two bolted with the booty.
The body of the deceased body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue whilst exhibit to wit a black pistol found on the robber was detained for further investigation.
Officials of the Achimota School Police Station confirmed the incident to MyNewsGH.com but revealed that investigations are underway to apprehend the two other suspects said to be on the run.
