Policeman, two accomplices arrested for robbery

One Lance Corporal Nathaniel Akomea of the Ghana Police Service with service number 50649 has been arrested alongside his two accomplices for engaging in armed robbery MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

Suspects, Francis Amoako, Richard Boateng and Nathaniel Akomea were arrested by COP Reverend David Nenyi Ampah-Benyin and handed over to police investigators for a thorough investigation and subsequent prosecution

According to the facts of the case, one Emmanuel David reported that on Saturday, January 12, 2019, he withdrew an amount of GH¢ 5,650.00 at ADB, Ring Road central branch in Accra.

Continuing his account, he revealed that on his way home to Dome a suburb of Accra, one red Toyota Corolla car with the registration number GE 340- 18 intercepted him and the occupants ordered him to come out and they took the money from him.

He immediately followed them in a taxi and fortunately met a police vehicle where COP Reverend David Nenyi Ampah-Benyin was on board and raised an alarm.

They then trailed and arrested the suspects and brought them to the police station.

At the charge office, the suspects were searched and S/G SUER pistol with number 60631430 was found on Lance Corporal Nathaniel Akomea and same retrieved and retained as an exhibit.

Meanwhile, cash of GH¢ 5,650 was retrieved from suspect Francis Amoako. All three have been detained and expected to be arraigned before the court later this week.
