Pollack wants FA Cup glory as Kotoko play Salamina in last 8

Asante Kotoko will be back on the field once again as they look to cancel their outstanding MTN FA Cup quarter final tie against NEA Salamina at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors returned to action last weekend when they took on arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.

It was Kotoko’s first competitive match after the tragic bus accident last month which claimed the life of their deputy equipment officer.

The game needed a controversial penalty converted by Saddick Adams to cancel out Kwame Kizito’s sublime finish as both sides shared the spoils.

On a week day with not much football to talk about locally, the center of attraction will be at the Baba Yara Stadium as the Reds look to progress to the next stage of the competition.

Speaking exclusively to 3news.com, Head Coach Steve Polack is optimistic as his team focuses on the clash against their lower division counterparts.

“First of all, we’ve got a cup game to negotiate before the WAFA game in the league. We negotiate the cup game, it is the quarter final and the next game is the semi final.”

The English man says he is eyeing a major trophy for the club and looks to avoid Hearts of Oak in the semis. “We still got two trophies to be won. Like I said it is down to us, as a club once it’s there, you fight for everything.

“If we play Hearts of Oak and go through to the final that will not surprise me at all, but hopefully that will not happen,” he stated. Hearts of Oak and Medeama have already booked their place in the semi finals after they both overcame Danbort and Armidaus Professionals respectively.

It will be an all-Premier League affair if Asante Kotoko progress ahead of NEA Salamina. The game is expected to kickoff at 3:30pm on Wednesday.
