Poly Club donates to Ho Prisons

Ho, Feb. 21, GNA - The Rotract Club of the Ho Polytechnic a benevolent society on Saturday, donated items worth 10 million cedis to the Ho Prisons and the Adaklu Vodze Primary School near Ho. The Prisons received fruits, bread, cartons of bar soap, crates of soft drink and packets of powdered milk, while the Adaklu-Vodze Primary School had 10 bags of cement and wood for the completion of the school block.

The President of the Club, Miss Yvonne Ayele Aryee, said the donations were part of the regular humanitarian activities of Club to assist the poor and vulnerable.

She said interacting with the poor and vulnerable gave members of the Club an opportunity to show love, encourage and to re-assure the beneficiaries that they had not been abandoned to their fate. She advised the prison inmates not to lose hope in life and regard themselves as outcasts because greater achievements awaited them after serving their terms.

Mr Alex Kpetigo, Senior Chief Officer expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Club and called on other humanitarian associations to remember those in prisons in their activities since some inmates did not have relatives to visit them.
