Power Embassy Church celebrates 11th anniversary

Accra, Oct. 4, GNA - The Power Embassy International Church, in Accra is to set up a fund to cater for widows and orphans in the society.

For a start, the church would assist 100 widows and orphans in the Greater Accra Region as a pilot phase of the programme. The Reverend Bishop Elisha Osei Kofi, General Overseer, announced this at the end of the church's "Shiloh 2009" conference and the 11th anniversary celebrations of the mission in Accra on Sunday. He said plans were also far advanced for the award of scholarships to the poor and the needy as part of the social responsibilities of the church.

The conference, which was on the theme: "Greater Glory," was aimed at equipping the participants both spiritually and mentally to face the challenges ahead.

It also afforded them the opportunity to interact with each other and also present their requests to God for solution. The General Overseer urged the youth to develop their potentials to enable them to become better citizens in future. Mr George Edem Ankora, Public Relations Officer of the Church advised Christians to refrain from acts, which hinder national development.

About 1,000 members of the church from Ghana, Canada, the United Kingdom and South Africa attended the seven-day conference. 4 Oct. 09
