Power Minister lambasts #DumsorMustStop celebrities

The Mahama led administration has come under severe attacks for failing to tackle the power crisis that has become a nightmare for most Ghanaians.

For the above reason, some celebrities led by Yvonne Nelson, Sarkodie and Lydia Forson have decided to come together and organize a vigil to mount pressure on government.

The intended action has angered the Minister for Power, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, who believes it is a complete waste of time for the celebrities to organize the demonstration considering the fact that their contributions in the creative arts industry has been minimal to the conomic development of Ghana.

In a tape which was played on Peace FM’s Evening News on Monday, Dr. Donkor was clearly heard saying “I want to walk into New York, go to a museum and see Ghanaian arts being exhibited”.

According to him, the personalities involved in organizing the demonstration "don’t have what it takes to make Ghana’s cedi stable" and would want them to focus more on the crippling industry and make it a major foreign earner for the nation.

“As at now, the artistic industry isn’t at an enviable level...I don’t see why they are trying to turn an artistic group into a political action group,” he said.
