Half Assini (W/R), April 7, GNA 97 The Headmaster of Half Assini Senior High School, Mr Kojo Edjah, on Wednesday, expressed his disappointment about the unannounced power outage at the school, which nearly marred the WASSCE, which was taking place at the school. The headmaster said just as the students were about to start the Oral English examination, the power was cut at the school, creating inconvenience for both candidates and invigilators.
"This compelled the school authorities to hire a generator to power the listening devices, without wh ich the examination could not have been conducted," Mr Edjah said.
Mr Edjah expressed his frustrations to the GNA, when it visited the school to assess the power situation.
He said the frequent power outage at the school in recent times had negatively affected students' studies and academic work and urged the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to put a stop to it. Mr Edjah said 269 candidates registered to write the examination this year, comprising 155 males and 144 females.
