Presby Church in US assists Nursery project

Nkoranza, (B/A) July 20, GNA - Lackawana Presbytery District of Franklin Hill Presbyterian Church in the United States is supporting Nkoranza District Church to establish a nursery school project at Nkoranza.

Ms. Ama Kathy Osburn and Ms Elizabeth Ralston, representatives of the Church in the United States are in the country to supervise work on the project for two weeks and to report its progress back to the parent church.

The Reverend Kwaku Addo-Lartey, Nkoranza District Minister of the Church, disclosed this when he led some leaders of the Church to introduce the Americans to the District Director of Education, Mr. Kwabena Agyemang-Badu at his office.

Rev. Addo-Lartey said the project was estimated at about 18 million cedis and appreciated the gesture of the partner Church at Lackawana.

He gave assurance that members of the church would offer communal labour towards the completion of the project.

Mr. Kwabena Agyemang-Badu commended the Presbyterian Church for its role in national development, adding that the church has been very supportive in providing education and health facilities. He gave the assurance that the District Directorate of Education would post teachers to the nursery school on completion.

Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom 1V, Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area and President of Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs expressed gratitude to the US parent church for their support to Nkoranza when the Americans called on him at his palace.

Mr. Anacletus Fakoo Dorcie, Nkoranza District Co-ordinating Director said the District Assembly would provide the necessary technical advice and support in the execution of the project.
