Kumasi, Nov 20, GNA - The Asante Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has instituted a dressing code to inculcate into members the need to dress decently during social functions. The Reverend Otuo Acheampong, Chairperson of the Presbytery, said this in his sermon at the annual crusade and thanksgiving of the church in Kumasi on Sunday.
The four-day crusade under the theme, "Reading into the Time" was aimed at enhancing the social and spiritual development of the members. He urged the members to comply with the directive to ensure discipline in the Church and warned that the Presbytery would not take kindly to those, especially the youth, who flouted the regulation. Rev Acheampong advised the members to take the word of God instead of ventures that seemed right to them and reminded them of the gradual breakdown of discipline in the Church.
He called on the elderly to ensure the "Presbyterian" type of discipline among the youth.
The Presbytery Chairperson noted that as "light and salt" of the world, Christians should endeavour to put into practice what the Bible taught them to salvage society from evil things. He expressed concern about the lifestyle of some Christians especially in the church, adding that there was the need for a change to the trend.
