Presbyterian Church ordains Ministers in Sunyani

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has ordained 12 ministers who were on probation in Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The ordination service was on the theme: "Search for the Hidden Treasure." Very Reverenced Dr Sam Prempeh, Former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, in a sermon, reminded the new ministers to go out and make a difference in the world, by bringing more people into the Kingdom of the Lord.

He said it was important for Christians to look for the hidden treasure and reject the worldly things, which could not guarantee the everlasting life. The former Moderator expressed grave concern about the manner in which some ‘pastors’ were in a hurry to become rich, powerful and famous.

He, therefore, cautioned them to depend solely on God, and stick to their mandate and divine calling, rather than setting their eyes on worldly things. Very Rev Dr Prempeh said the only way Ghana could be saved or delivered from satanic influence such as immorality, socio-economic hardships and destruction of human lives and properties, was for the men of God to be morally and spiritually sound at all times.

According to him, churches were now being mocked and doubted by many unbelievers because of the ill-conduct of some pastors. He, therefore, cautioned the newly ordained ministers not to miss out on their divine mandate; and asked them to pray always and seek the face of God, which according to him, was the only way to have a complete communion with God.

The ordained ministers included Rev Martin Luther Ababio, Rev Noah Mensah Ababio, Rev Felix Tannor Ababio, Rev Joseph Kwadwo Asamoah, and Rev Joseph Darkwa Asomani.

The rest were Rev Daniel Okai Lartey, Rev Jackson Mahama, Rev Emmanuel Kwaku Mnau, Rev Stanford Asante, Rev Robert Bernard Oppong-Agyei, Rev Solomon Kwaku Twum and Rev Patrick Yirenkyi.
