The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has extended his congratulations to Donald Trump for his victory in the recent elections held in the United States of America.
In a photo shared on his Facebook page and sighted by GhanaWeb, President Akufo-Addo was seen shaking hands with the US President-elect, Donald Trump.
He opined that Trump's election outcome demonstrates the great trust Americans have in him.
“I am hopeful that, under your leadership, this bond will grow even stronger, paving the way for collaboration in addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges, as we did during your first mandate,” part of his message read.
“The friendships between Ghana and United states have deep roots, built on mutual respect, shared values and a commitment to democracy and freedom. I am hopeful that under your leadership, this bond will grow even stronger, paving the way for collaboration in addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges, as we did during your first mandate. Together, we can continue to promote peace, prosperity and the dignity of all people,” he added.
He emphasized Ghana's longstanding partnership with the United States, indicating that the country is ready to support Trump and his administration.
The relationship between the two nations, Akufo-Addo said, will be mutually beneficial.
Donald Trump secured victory by winning key states in the historic “Blue Wall” — Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania — to achieve the necessary 270 Electoral College votes.
