President Akufo-Addo cuts sod for 'deadly' Kpandai-Salaga Road

President Akufo-Addo has on Friday, August 16, 2019 cut sod for the commencement of the Kpandai-Salaga Road.

The Kpandai-Salaga Road, according to the president has never received government's intervention since independence hence, his administration breaking this 'ugly' history by constructing that deplorable road.

The second class road is pecked at about GHC54million and is expected to be completed within 24 months.

Contractors for this 62km road will be constructed by Jiangxi Non-Ferrous Engineers and Construction Limited.

President Akufo-Addo stated that, “24 months is 24 months, and the contractors must deliver the project on schedule to avoid any cost overruns. Compensation has been added to the (budget) of the contract to all persons and groups to be affected by this project, and, so, we anticipate a very smooth project cycle.”

Addressing a Durbar of Chiefs and people of Kpandai, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Amoako-Attah urged the contractors to employ the youth in the area to boost the economy of Kpandai.

He also added that the Nkanchina Road will be added to that of the Kpandai-Salaga Road contact due to the yet to be created Nurses and Midwifery College at Nkanchina.

He later called on the Chiefs and people of Kpandai to support the contractors to do a good job for the benefit of the good people of kpandai and its environs.
