President Akufo-Addo is Ghana's humblest President – Odike

Mr Akwasi Adai Odike has said that he finds President Akufo-Addo as the most humble leader Ghana has ever had in the Fourth Republic.

The founder and head of the United Progressive Party (UPP) made the statement with regards to action by the President when he had a sitting with all the leaders of the various political parties in the country on January 4 2018.

“I have never seen such a humble President in Ghana before,” he stated.

The various political parties, who form the opposition parties in the country were represented at the sitting by their Chairpersons as well as General Secretaries.

The meeting was the first of its kind in the country since 1992 when the Fourth Republic was inaugurated and it was a calm one of respect and understanding.

Akwasi Adai Odike, while speaking on Accra based radio station Oman FM described the atmosphere at the meeting as good and favourable, stressing that the President had personal interactions with almost all the people who were present at the meeting.

He further commented by saying, President Akufo-Addo cracked jokes with the likes of NDC’s General Secretary Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Founder of All Progressive Peoples Party (APC) Hassan Ayariga who are known to be hard core critics of the President.

He said the meeting focused on the celebration of 25th Anniversary of the Fourth Republic, the creation of the new districts as well as the President’s policy to ensure that MMDCEs are elected.
