President Kufour Is A Liability -Mr Domestication

?President Agyekum Kufuor has gradually made himself a liability to the New Patriotic Party,? Mr Dan Lartey has stated in an interview with The Insight in Accra. Dan Lartey, who is the Leader and Founder of the Great Consolidate Popular Party (GCPP), argued that President Agyekum Kufuor could have allowed the dust to settle over the Representation of the People Amendment Bill (ROPAB) before signing it into law, or send it back to Parliament for aspects of it to be reconsidered, but rather chose to sign it into law overnight.

?This is a sign of a bad leadership since the law is dividing the nation,? he said. He observed that soon after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) came to power, after 30 years in opposition, President Agyekum Kufuor first renovated his house, giving the impression that for all the 30 long years that they were in opposition, ?renovating his house is the nation?s priority?.

According to Mr Lartey, this was captured by the media and it consequently gave negative publicity to Mr Kufuor and the NPP. Throughout his first term, he was not able to take action against numerous corruption cases raised against his ministers, but rather affirmed that corruption ?started with Adam and Eve.?

Unfortunately, he projected himself into second term on a bad not with Hotel Kufuor saga, coupled with twins of the State. Mr Lartey stated that all these created bad and negative image for President Kufuor and the NPP in the minds of Ghanaians. ?How come again under the leadership of Agyekum Kufuor, monies are allegedly being collected from companies at the Castle, Osu, in the name of the NPP while the party headquarters is there?

Instead of checking wrongdoings within his party, he is confusing the nation with ROPAA,? Mr Lartey had said. He said NP sympathizers, members, functionaries may not see the harm Kufuor was causing the party today, but when pushed back into opposition, they would realize how he had destroyed the party.
