President Kufuor Go Wild On Police

President John Agyekum Kufuor has expressed misgivings about the image of the Police Service, saying the Service needs to polish its image. He said even though it was a good service filled with competent people, it was not the best.

President Kufuor said this when he swore into office four newly appointed Ministers of State at the Castle, Osu.

President Kufuor said currently the Police Service is bedeviled with problems such as the drug menace, and charged the new interior minister, Addo Kufuor, to work to change the image of the Service.

President Kufuor, who took turns to address each of the Ministers, reminded them that they were taking office at a time his mandate as President was about to expire, and thus asked them to work hard till the end of his tenure. He indicated that he would not be a lame duck President but would work hard till the end of his term. Describing the Ministers as recycled Ministers who have been brought back to assist government in the management of the affairs of the State, President Kufuor asked them to support the Government.
