President Kufuor Lashes Out At Opponents

President Kufuor has taken a swipe at some political opponents whose stock–in–trade is nothing but character assassination and unwarranted attacks on his government and members of the NPP.

“I will not mind such people for whatever lies they peddle, once they have refused to see and appreciate the good works of my Government” he said.

He made these remarks when he cut the sod for the commencement of the reconstruction work on the Pantang–Manfe Road at a ceremony at Mampong-Akuapem in the Western Region.

President Kufuor said “Ghanaians and for that matter the electorate are discernible enough to choose between a good and hard working party from the ones in the dreamland”.

He added that insults and physical attacks on political opponents were threats to democracy and good governance and therefore hampered the development of a developing nation.

He therefore called on the citizenry to display civility and decency in this year’s elections.
