President John Agyekum Kufuor, would meet the press today, Tuesday, August 9, to throw light on policy direction and vision for his second term of office.
The media interaction, which is the third to be organised by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is likely to touch on the three key policies of the NPP's Positive Change Chapter Two namely: Human Resource Development, Private Sector Development and Good Governance. The President would be offered an opportunity to comment on media bashing of his Government and family and corruption charges against Government functionaries.
The first media encounter was after his 100 days in office on April 18, 2001 while the second was 21 months later on October 3, 2002. All were held at the Osu Castle.
The second press conference formed part of activities lined up for Ministers of State to give account of their stewardship.
The main context of the 40-minute address was on the economy, agriculture, social services, infrastructure, governance and foreign relations. It also centred on politics and social issues.
Like the first and second press conferences Vice President Aliu Mahama, Ministers of State, Parliamentarians and some Executive Members of NPP are likely to flank President Kufuor.
