President John Dramani Mahama would on Tuesday evening leave Accra for Abuja, Nigeria, to attend the 43rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) heads of state and government.
The two-day session would consider a number of issues including the 2013 interim report of the President of ECOWAS Commission and reports on the situation in Mali.
A statement issued by the Office of the President, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the summit would also review the situation in Guinea Bissau and the status of the ECOWAS security mission in that country.
The statement said in the absence of President Mahama, Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur would act as President in accordance with Article 60 (8) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
