President of CSA decries lateness to work

Nkawie (Ash), Nov 11, GNA -Alhaji Ziblim Yakubu, National President of the Civil Servants Association (CSA) has decried lateness to work which affects productivity in the service.

He, however, attributed this problem to the fact that the service does not have buses like some public sector organisations to convey civil servants to and from work.

Alhaji Ziblim said, for instance that about 80 percent of civil servants in the cities and the environs use the public transport system and this affects their punctuality to work.

Commenting on the transportation problem facing civil servants at Nkawie on Monday, he said, in line with the government's declaration of the Golden Age of Business, the civil service is under-going transformation but said the present transportation problem posed a serious draw back to its success.

Alhaji Ziblim, who is the Atwima District Co-ordinating Director, said for civil servants to live up to expectation to ensure the success of the declaration of the Golden Age of Business, government ought to find a quick solution to this transportation problem.

He also appealed to the general public who were customers of the civil service to bear with the service since the situation was not their making.

Alhaji Ziblim, however, warned civil servants not to use the transportation problem facing them as an excuse to be reporting at work late but strive to live up to their responsibilities by setting off early from their homes to get to work early.

This, he pointed out, would be their contribution towards making the transformation going on in the service a success and their contribution towards making the Golden Age of Business a success.
