President says Judicial system is too slow

President Rawlings has expressed concern over what he calls the slow operations of the country’s Judicial system.

Speaking on behalf of the President at the commissioning of the first Factory Unit of the Business Focus Export Processing Zone, a member of the council of state, Mr. C.K. Dewornu, said the slow pace at which the Judiciary is operating has led to most people adopting unorthodox ways of settling disputes.

President Rawlings said a swift and impartial Judiciary is a must for the development and growth of the country’s Democracy as well as its drive to boost investor confidence in the country. He therefore called on the Judiciary to rapidly address the problem to ensure that the drive to attract investors into the country remains on course.
