President to cause more surprises in appointment of government officials- Akamba

Mr Joshua Akamba, Deputy National Youth Organiser of National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday said President John Dramani Mahama would surprises many people in the appointment of government officials.

“Expect more surprises in ministerial appointments as President Mahama moves to fulfill his promise to bring on board competent people for positions in government no matter their political background.

“With this posture the President will tap the talents of all Ghanaians no matter their political affiliation to enhance national development,” Mr Akamba told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra.

Mr Akamba noted that President Mahama may even appoint members of opposition parties into his government provided they meet the criteria for advancing the better Ghana agenda for national development.

He said the NDC under the President is committed at expanding the democratic front and broadening the scope of governance.

Mr Akamba said President Mahama sees himself not only as an NDC leader “but a leader for all and is ready to strive to unite Ghanaians for the development of the country”.

The NDC Deputy National Organiser expressed satisfaction about the four appointment made by the President, describing them as competent and committed people who would work to help the Head of State to deliver on his promises.

He urged the citizenry to allow the President to use his constitutional right to appoint people who can work effectively to transform the nation.
