A Presidential staffer and secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) Mr. Charles Cromwell Nanabayin Onouwonto Bissue who was captured in a latest documentary taking bribe to aid illegal mining by Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has resigned stating that, he is doing that for the interest of transparency and accountability.

In his letter, Mr. Bissue denied any involvement in the ‘galamsey fraud’ video hinting that he is innocent of the allegations leveled against him in the said documentary.

” I would like to state, at the very outset, that i am innocent of the accusations leveled against me in the documentary, as i was not and have not been engaged in any acts of corruption, criminality and misconduct” he stated.

According to Mr, Cromwell, his decision to resign stems from the interest of transparency and accountability and so as not to compromise with the work of the IMCIM.

Mr. Bissue has however hinted that, he is ready to help with the investigation processes.

“I call for such investigation, and i am prepared to avail myself, at all times to the investigation process. I am confident that, at the end of it all, i will be exonerated, and my good name will be preserved.
