NDC denies any deal with Giselle Yazji

Accra, May 29, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has denied involvement in any deal with Ms Giselle Yazji, the lady at the centre of the controversy surrounding the purchase of a hotel by a member of the Kufuor family.

A statement by the NDC signed by Mr John Mahama, NDC Director of Communications in Accra on Sunday, May 29 said the attention the party has been drawn to allegations made by Mr. Kwabena Agyepong, Press Secretary of President John Agyekum Kufuor that Ms. Yazji was known to and had previously dealt with the NDC, while in government.

The allegation is totally false and has no bearing at all with the matter in contention, namely the negotiation and purchase of a hotel by either President Kufuor or his son, Chief Addo Kufuor or both. "We reiterate with emphasis that at no pint in time during the eight-year mandate of the NDC did Ms Yazji come into contact or work with the government.

"We therefore, call on all persons wishing to comment on the matter to desist from dragging the name of the NDC into it and using it as diversion."

The NDC insists on a truthful and dispassionate discussion on the unfolding drama, the statement said.
