Press Statement By The New Patriotic Party –Germany

The Germany Branch of the New Patriotic Party[NPP] wishes to congratulate Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo on his election as the leader and Flag Bearer of our great party in the just ended presidential primaries.

The emphatic victory of Nana Akuffo Addo in the elections is an overwhelming endorsement of his ability to lead us into victory in 2012
We also wish to extend our congratulations to all the other contestants for their commitment and dedication to the cause of our party. This, they have demonstrated by offering themselves to contest in the elections and we congratulate them for their efforts.

The Germany Branch would further want to recognise the immense role that leadership at all levels of the party have played in the entire process. We are particularly grateful to the polling station executives, the constituency, Regional and National Executives for their hard work and selfless devotion to duty, party and nation.
It has to be remembered however, that this is not just an individual victory but a collective victory for the NPP, Ghana and democracy. By this exercise, the NPP has once again demonstrated that it is the only party in Ghana and Africa that appreciates and indeed put democracy into practice.
With the elections behind us, all members of the party should recognise the immensity of the task ahead of us and rededicate ourselves to the cause of our party with the view to wrestling power from the NDC government in 2012.This is a historical mission and we cannot afford to fail our people in view of the fact that the NDC government has remained dysfunctional and has failed to deliver due to it’s own internal wrangling ,inefficiencies and paralysis.
We therefore call for unity of purpose among all members, put the elections behind us and rally behind Nana Akuffo Addo to ensure victory in 2012.
Finally the Germany Branch of the NPP will want to take this opportunity to invite Nana to Germany in 2011, preferably in June
Long Live NPP
Long live Ghana
