President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to join other African leaders for the Africa Global Leaders Forum scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 1.
It is a two-day forum and the second to be held by the gulf nation.
"It is for a select group of nations that are seen as promising and are on a certain path of prosperity," said Ben Dotsei Malor, the Head of Communications at the Presidency.
President Mahama was met on arrival by President of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industries Hamad Buamim.
The Forum seeks to strengthen bilateral trade cooperation between Africa and the UAE.
"The key areas of interest for President Mahama particluarly for this forum is infrastructure," Mr Malor said. "There is also an aspect to tourism and we will look at agriculture."
UAE is becoming part of the Top 20 trading partners of Africa globally both for exports and imports, and the main trading partner within the Gulf region.
The prospects of economic cooperation between UAE and Africa are expected to consolidate further in the coming years.
"The authorities here in the United Arab Emirates view Ghana as a bright star with very good prospects."
