President John Dramani Mahama will embark on a two-day 'Thank You tour’ of the Greater Accra Region from Tuesday, September 11, 2012, to Wednesday September 12, 2012.
The Greater Accra Regional tour will conclude the nationwide 'thank you' tour undertaken by President Mahama to thank the chiefs and people of all the 10 regions of the country for their show of love, encouragement and support during the funeral and burial ceremony of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
He had already visited the Central, Western, Volta, Eastern, Brong Ahafo, Upper West, Northern, Upper East and Ashanti Regions.
A statement issued by the Spokesperson of the President, Mr John Jinapor, said President Mahama's first point of call for the Greater Accra Regional tour would be in Prampram, where he would visit the family home of former First Lady, Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills.
"This will be followed by a whistle stop at Ashiaman where he will interact with market women in Ashaiman and also visit fishermen and fishmongers in Tema," it said.
The statement said President Mahama would then proceed to the Nungua Market and subsequently drive through the Teshie Township to address a grand durbar of the chiefs and people of the Greater Accra Region.
It said on Wednesday, the President's tour would take him to Chorkor and Ga Mashie where he would meet and interact with canoe fishermen and fishmongers in the two fishing communities.
"President Mahama's national 'Thank You' tour will be concluded with whistle stop visits to the Agbogbloshie, Kaneshie, Mallam-Atta, Nima, Maamobi and Madina markets respectively to interact with market women in the markets," it said.
