Prez Palace To Be Used As Hospital

A fire brand of the National Democratic congress (NDC), Dr Tony Aidoo has hinted that his party would turn the presidential palace which is currently under construction into a hospital if the party should win he 2008 elections.

According to Dr Aidoo, the presidency is not a monarchy, therefore there is no need for a palace for the president to live in, adding that, it is not in the interest of Ghanaians for the construction of such a facility.

Dr Aidoo who dropped this hint during the June 4th celebration at Madina in Accra cautioned against the usage of the facility by any president should the party win the 2008 general elections.

?No NDC president should strive to live in the palace should we win the election. I will deal with that particular person if such an attempt is made? he emphasised. Touching on the June 4th celebration, he observed that the occasion represents social justice, adding that, ?it gives me the principle of accountability.?

On her part Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe noted that, the president does not care for the citizens. To her, whilst medical doctors are on strike, the president has left the country for two weeks to attend conferences and other private meetings. She alleged that, the president is going to settle issues with Gizelle Yajzi upon hearing that; she (Gizelle) would be holding a press conference very soon in America to address issues relating to the hotel which is close to the president?s house.
