Prioritize Mahama’s uncompleted hospitals – Afrifa-Mensah advises Nana Addo

President Akufo-Addo President Akufo-Addo

Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, host of ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on Happy 98.9FM has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to tell Ghanaians about the state of the various hospitals constructed during the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration before embarking on his ambitious eighty-eight (88) district and six (6) regional hospitals project.

‘’What is the state of the one hundred and four (104) bed capacity police hospital, the one hundred and ten (110) capacity maritime hospital that Mahama constructed. Did Mahama lie, the hospitals don’t exist’’, he quizzed.

He also appreciated Nana Akufo-Addo for thinking about Ghana and wanting to build district hospitals to augment the health infrastructure in the country.

‘’For the President to think about those hospitals, I appreciate it. But complete what Mahama started before you start a new one. And if there exist any financial malfeasance prosecute the individuals involved, but finish the uncompleted projects first’’, he said.

Editorials are said to be subjective, but for years Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah has used his rant to influence public opinion, promote critical thinking, and has most of the times caused people to take action on an issue. It is in this light that he made the special appeal for government not to abandon projects started by Mahama.

‘’I am an avid supporter of New Patriotic Party (NPP), but I am for the truth and that is governance. I have heard people say only unsatisfied party people are criticizing the government, that is not true in my case. Party politics is destroying our country, we cannot sit and look on helplessly for NDC and NPP to destroy our nation. All the industries that Kwame Nkrumah constructed they have sold all of them’’, he said.

However, spokespersons for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have alleged on several platforms that there are about two hundred (200) projects that the Mahama led administration left at various advanced stages of completion after the first term of John Mahama, which they claim the ruling NPP government has left to rot.

These projects according to the NDC include hospitals, clinics, CHIPS compounds, Community Day SHSs, other school projects, roads, rural electrification projects among others.
