Private Media Destroy President?s Image

A media research group, Centre for Media Analysis (CMA) says 84 percent of what the private media report on President Kufuor dent not only his image but the office of the presidency as well.

The report submitted that only 16 percent of the media reports were positive of the president, citing 150 referential adjectives and nouns in 10 selected private print media houses during the month of April this year.

It said the top 15 referential adjectives and nouns on a total of 25 ranking presented the President Kufuor as corrupt followed by armed robber even though he was sometimes presented as honorable and diplomatic.

Explaining the findings of the 34 pages Research to the media in Accra on Wednesday, The Chief Executive of CMA, Dr. Messan Mawugbe told the media in Accra on Wednesday that the middle 17 referential adjectives and noun did not present the presidency in any better image.
