Families of kidnapped girls and two youth groups Western Youth for Justice and Advocacy for Youth group have organized a demonstration following what they described as failure by the police to provide concrete results on the investigation of the girls.

Demonstrators numbering over 500 participated in the demonstration Saturday to protest against the security services and government for their inability to locate the missing kidnapped girls.

In a petition to the Western Regional Minister Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko, the Group gave government 14 days ultimatum to locate the kidnapped girls or they will march to the Jubilee House to express their grievances to the President.

The demonstration was organized by western Youth for Justice, Advocacy for organized and concerned mother association.

Rainbow Radio’s Sir Joe in a report said demonstrators wielding placards and chanting war songs expressed worry over the inability of the police to locate the girls.

He said families if the missing girls were still in pain over the matter.

The missing girls are 18-year-old Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, last seen on 21 December 2018; 21-year-old Priscilla Blessing Bentum, last seen on 17 August 2018; and 18-year-old Ruth Love Quayson, last seen on 4 December 2018.

The man suspected to be behind the kidnappings, Samuel Udoetuk-Wills, who broke cell and escaped from the custody of the Takoradi Metropolitan Police Command on 30 December 2018, was re-arrested by the police.

The families of the three kidnapped girls in December threatened to sue the Ghana Police Service over the delay in finding the victims and also picket the Jubilee House.
