Prof. Edward Ayensu sworn in as Board Chairman of AIT

The Board of Trustees of the Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) at its 14th meeting held at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra duly elected and swore-in Professor Edward Ayensu as its new Board Chairman.

Professor Ayensu, a world renown scientist and academic, served as Director & Senior Research Scientist of the prestigious Smithsonian Institute in Washington USA.

He is former Chairman of the World Bank Inspection Panel and former Chairman of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

Professor Ayensu who served as the Vice Chairman of the AIT Board since its inception, now replaces the late Professor Francis Allotey, the former Chairman of the AIT Board of Trustees.

The Board also elected and swore-in Professor Ivan Addae-Mensah an equally renowned world scientist as the new Vice Chairman of the AIT Board of Trustees. Professor Addae-Mensah is a founding member of the AIT Board of Trustees and the Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana.

The membership of the prestigious AIT Board of Trustees is made up of distinguished personalities and world leaders in their respective fields; they including: Dr. K.Y. Amoako, Former United Nations Under-Secretary General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Professor Samuel K. Adjepong, Former Vice Chancellor, University of Cape Coast; Dr. Grace Bediako, Former Government Statistician, Professor Jophus Anamuah-Mensah, Former Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Winneba, Very Rev. Ama Afo Blay, Former Director General, Ghana Education Service, Professor Emmanuel Owusu-Bennoah, Former Director General, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Mr. K.S Yamoah, Managing Director, the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), Professor Anuwar Ali, Former Vice Chancellor of Open University of Malaysia and Professor Clement Dzidonu, President of AIT
