Prof. Frimpong Boateng is NPP's bad omen - Sir John's Aide

When it comes to establishing a formidable political party, almost every politician will attest to the fact that academic background does not constitute the entire ingredient needed to win power.

It takes politicians who can efficiently strategize and see into the future to come together and bring on board plans that can woo voters to be on their side.

This analogy convinces Mr. David Osei that Prof. Frimpong Boateng’s call on delegates to reject Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie as the New Patriotic Party prepares to elect national executives is empty. Prof. Frimpong Boateng recently called on delegates to reject Mr. Owusu Afriyie and go for Mr. Kwabena Agyepong as their General Secretary if they want to be in power in 2016.

But Mr. Osei, an aide to NPP’s current General Secretary, stated on OKAY FM that although Prof. Boateng is a renowned surgeon, most of his political suggestions expose his divisive nature.

He described him as a bad omen for the party and added that he is fond of providing the National Democratic Congress with negative information about the NPP.

“If we should cast our minds back, we would recall that it was on his platform that our former chief of staff, Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani, declared that any idiot could be flagbearer of the NPP. That message affected the NPP badly," he recounted.

Mr. Davis Osei further identified him as part of the group within the NPP who are busily planning an “anti Nana agenda” to ensure he never becomes president of Ghana.

“Together with his pals, Prof. Boateng’s aim is to make Nana Addo powerless so that he loses the elections."
