Prof. Karikari tackles Mahama over media comment

The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa, Professor Kwame Karikari, has lashed out at President John Mahama for his recent criticism of unprofessionalism in the media.

At recent interaction with the media at the Flagstaff House, President Mahama accused media houses of hosting persons who trade insults and urged all media practitioners to be more responsible.

However, Prof Karikari says politicians must be blame for such developments.

He was speaking on the Tarzan’s Take programme on MultiTV.

According to him “the problem he [Mr Mahama] is raising [concerns about] is at his doorstep”.

Prof Karikari said politicians are the ones who organize serial callers and pay them to lie and insult their opponents in the media.

“Now because he [Mahama] is president, he probably needs a more balanced view in the media.

“But the problem comes with the politicians,” he maintained.
