The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has revealed candidly that Professor Martey is unwise for criticising some government appointees of being corrupt.

It would be recalled that the former moderator of the Presbyterian church of Ghana Prof Emmanuel Martey had described the critics of the Nana Addo led government as unwise since the government is extremely young to be criticized.

Reacting to Prof Martey's comments to Akwasi Boateng host of "Maakye" show on Accra-based Hot93.9fm, Koku Anyidoho described Prof Martey's assertion as unfortunate--considering the fact that the outspoken man of God also criticised the government by pointing out that some government appointees are corrupt.

"If he is saying that there is corruption, is that not criticism? it is criticism. So if in five months you can convince yourself that there is corruption going on and that there are corrupt people in the government then you are criticising the government.

If someone criticises the government over the huge number of ministers which is draining the public purse and the family and friends style of government that is going on and you refer to them as unwise, then it is up to you." He retorted.

He emphasized that, "Professor Martey who has never hesitated in lashing out at the NDC when we were in power is only reiterating on what he has consistently been saying and this is not different because he once referred to us in the NDC as unwise when he was calling for wise people to come and rule the country.

We are not going to speak against him for the insult lest people are going to say NDC does not respect pastors we will only comment constructively on issues."
