Project To Transform The Police Service Launched

The Inspector-General of Police Nana Owusu-Nsiah has re-affirmed his administration’s readiness to work in close collaboration with the public to promote peace, law and order in the country.

He was speaking in Accra on Tuesday at the launching of the Phase II of the Ghana Government/UNDP Transformation Project for the Police Service. The project has among its major objectives to fully resource the police to become more efficient in the maintenance of law and order in the country.

It is also to transform the service to be at par with internationally accepted standard of policy. The IGP called for more assistance from their development partners to help further restructure the service into a more vibrant institution that will keep pace with current democratic trends.
