Promote image of NPP - DCE tells activists

Juaso(Ash),Jan.4, GNA - Dr Lord Justice Gyamfi-Fenteng, Asante-Akim South District Chief Executive, has stated that retention of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government in power in 2008 would depend on its achievements.

He said Government appointees and functionaries on the ticket of the party therefore, have the onerous responsibility to promote its image through hard work.

Dr Gyamfi-Fenteng was speaking at the end-of-year get-together organised by the Asante-Akim South constituency of the NPP for the aged at Juaso.

The DCE asked Government appointees and functionaries to be committed to the cause of the party since they occupied those positions on the ticket of the party and cautioned that their failure would be detrimental to the party winning the 2008 elections. Dr Gyamfi-Fenteng asked party activists and sympathisers to avail themselves to the people irrespective of their social status in society, adding; "If they avail themselves to all and sundry, it could increase the membership and support base of the party."

Mrs Gifty Ohene Konadu, Member of Parliament for Asante-Akim South, called on members of the party to avoid petty squabbles to present a formidable front in 2008.

She called for unity among the members with the constituency and national elections over to ensure a massive victory in 2008.
