Promote peace and unity - Prophet Jehu-Appiah

Mankessim, Sept. 5, GNA - Prophet Dr Miritaiah Jonah Jehu-Appiah, Akaboha III, Head of the Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC), has appealed to the media to report news that will promote peace and unity. He said the high level of illiteracy in the country made it necessary for the media to feed the people with positive and reliable news to help them to take informed decisions.

Prophet Jehu-Appiah expressed concern about how a section of the media was abusing press freedom and maligning the integrity of some people.

He was delivering a sermon at a four-day crusade organised by the Central Region zone of the MDCC at Mankessim attended by over 3,000 members on the theme, "Loose Them and Bring Them to Me".

The Prophet stated that God created man for a purpose and would not allow his children to be taken into captivity by the devil, adding that, God would surely release man from the chains of the devil to enable him to do what he had created him for.

He advised the congregation to have faith and to be committed to God. The Akaboha advised Christians to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme to enable them to have access to quality health care services.

Nana Araba Otua II, Omanhemaa of the Mankessim Traditional Area, appealed to the leadership of the Church to bury their differences to foster peace and unity.

She said a programme to promote a non-formal adult education had been initiated in the area to encourage especially elder women to learn how to read and write and appealed to Churches to encourage their members to take advantage and to offer their premises for the classes. Nana Otua advised the women to take good care of their children by enrolling them and providing their basic school needs. She said HIV/AIDS was real and advised the congregation to abstain from promiscuity.
