Ghanaian prophet Kusi Appiah has addressed growing speculation regarding his alleged association with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a direct statement, he denied claims suggesting that he has been working with the party to influence election outcomes, particularly the 2024 defeat of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In an interview on Lawson TV/Radio, Prophet Kusi emphasized, “I am not working for the NPP. I am not involved in any plot against the NDC or any other political party. My duty as a prophet is to deliver the messages I receive from God without political bias or interference.”
His comments are aimed at dispelling any misconceptions about his role in Ghana’s political landscape, especially following his high-profile prophecies about the 2024 elections.
The prophet, however, did express a personal fondness for Bawumia, acknowledging a connection with the NPP flagbearer.
“I’ve known Bawumia for some time, and I believe he was divinely chosen for this role. I have always supported him, not out of political alignment, but out of respect for what I believe is his divine appointment. But that’s where my involvement ends,” Prophet Kusi clarified.
This statement raises questions about the intersection of faith and politics, as well as the fine line between spiritual guidance and political influence.
When the conversation shifted to the possible impact of Bawumia’s running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), on the NPP’s 2024 election outcome, Prophet Kusi maintained a neutral stance.
“I don’t get involved in the specifics of political decisions. My role is spiritual; I’m here to share the prophecies I receive from God, not to speculate on political strategies or outcomes,” he said.
